‘Pokemon Sword and Shield’ game has finally been released on the Nintendo Switch Platform. The game allows players to explore the Galar region & catch new Pokemon. ‘Pokemon Sword and Shield’ game has added a ton of new Pokemon to the game; you can check the complete list by heading here.
Players can evolve Pokemon by gaining experience through battles or Rare Candy. However, some Pokemon require a special item to evolve & one of them is Applin. This Pokemon can only be evolved by using either a Tart Apple or Sweet Apple.
Applin will evolve into Appletun if you are playing Shield version & will evolve to Flapple if you are playing Sword version.
In order to get Tart or Sweet apple and evolve Applin, players need to progress the game until Hammerlocke location. Hammerlocke location will be made available to players after the third gym, and Applin can only be evolved at this location.
Once you arrive at this location, you need to go up the ramp & stop at the cross-section near the Pokemon Center. Then you need to head left and look for an archway, and there you will find a trainer standing on the grass after crossing the wooden bridge.
Then you need to have a dialogue exchange with the trainer and select the ‘I haven’t’ option when he asks about the rumor. After that, the trainer will temporarily take your Applin & new dialogue exchange will take place.
At the end of dialogues, the trainer will give you tart apple or sweet apple depending on your game version.
Players with Shield version of the game will get a Sweet Apple, whereas players with Sword version of the game will get a Tart Apple. Then you are required to place Applin in your party and open your bag from menus. Head to the other items tab & select the Apple rewarded to you by the trainer.
Then you need to use this item & click on Applin.
If you are playing the Shield version of the game, Pokemon will evolve into Appletun, whereas for the users with the Sword version of the game, Applin will evolve into Flapple. For your reference, you can also check the video of the Sword and Shield player, MonkeyKingHero down below.
