Niantic is trying their best to make the game enjoyable for players even in this coronavirus pandemic, by making changes & adjustments to the game. The distance from which you can interact with Gyms has been temporarily doubled.
It allows players to be farther from Gyms and other Trainers as they challenge Raid Bosses.This change also allows you to spin Photo Discs at Gyms if you are within the doubled distance. However, it will not change the distance required to spin Photo Discs at PokéStops.
Cut to now, Niantic has revealed the details regarding the Spring event. Spring season has started for those who live in the Northern Hemisphere. Buneary has joined the spring celebration by wearing a flowery crown.
Egg and spring-themed Pokémon will appear more often in the wild! Players will receive 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators until further notice. The Spring event will go live on April 9, 2020, at 8 am & will stay live until April 16, 2020, at 10 pm local time.
Under the Pokemon Go Spring event, the following list of Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild : Exeggcute, Chansey, Mareep, Marill, and Torchic. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Exeggcute!.
Buneary wearing flower crowns and Pikachu wearing flower hats will also be appearing in the wild! If you’re lucky, you might encounter Shiny ones, too! The following Pokémon will be hatching more often from 2 km Eggs: Pichu wearing a flower crown, Togepi wearing a flower crown, Happiny, Munchlax, Tyrogue, Chingling, and Riolu.
All Eggs received from Gifts during the event will be 2 km Eggs. There will be event-exclusive Field Research tasks that reward encounters with Alolan Exeggutor, Azumarill, and if you’re extremely lucky, you might encounter Audino!
Players will also receive a few bonuses under this event. Players will get double the amount of candy for hatching Pokemon & Lucky eggs will last for one hour. A Togepi-themed bag and hoodie will also be available in the in-game shop.
