Pokemon Go has marched in 2020 with flying colors as it managed to generate a revenue of $1.4 billion in 2019. The game has been developed by Niantic and it was launched in 2016. The game became a worldwide phenomenon within a month of its launch.
Currently, Pokemon Go is one of the best-augmented reality games that are available in the market. Cut to now, Niantic has announced today the details regarding the Lunar New Year event which is the Year of the Rat according to Chinese Zodiac.
To celebrate the Year of the Rat and Lunar New Year, Red Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild. Pokemon Go Lunar New Year Event is also bringing in a range of bonuses for players.
Pokemon Darumaka which was not previously found in the game will start appearing in the game. Pokemon Go Lunar New Year event will go live on January 24, 2020, at 1 pm and will end on February 3, 2020, at 1 pm PST.
During the Pokemon Go Lunar New Year Event, the following Red Pokemon will start more appearing in the wild : Charmeleon, Vulpix, Parasect, Voltorb, Jynx, Magmar, Magikarp, Flareon, Slugma, Wurmple, Corphish, Kricketot, and Foongus.
If you’re lucky, you might spot a Gyarados in the wild. Red Shiny Gyrados will also be available in the wild. There is also a change in egg pool of 7 km eggs. The following Pokemon will hatch from 7 km eggs : Shuckle, Foongus, Darumaka.
Pokemon Go Lunar Year event is accompanied by bonuses. The list of bonuses that players will get are detailed below.

- Gifts will have a chance of rewarding you with Rare Candies, so be sure to send and open lots of Gifts with your friends.
- Be sure to trade more often with your friends—the likelihood of becoming Lucky Friends will be increased.
