The Poco X3 NFC and its non-NFC sibling have both been plagued by a slew of issues for which the Android 11 update not only has done little to help but has also managed to worsen stuff.

The phone suffers from camera focus and freezing issues, random reboots, weak 4G network connectivity, laggy performance, touch unresponsiveness, and proximity sensor problems. A couple of these have been resolved though.

But perhaps the most bothersome among the bunch are the camera woes where the app keeps freezing and takes way too long to focus or click photos. This one has been doing rounds since the device’s Android 10 days and Android 11 brought no relief.

Perhaps this is why device owners have been so eager for the upcoming MIUI 12.5 update. Of course, the update will introduce new features. But more than that, Poco X3 NFC users are hopeful that it will finally bring along a bug-free MIUI experience.

For the uninitiated, the Poco X3 and Poco X3 NFC were previously slated to bag the much-awaited MIUI 12.5 update by the end of Q2 2021. However, we are now nearing mid-July and Q2 has long passed with no sign of the update.

Due to this, there is renewed clamour on the forums from concerned device owners regarding the whereabouts of the update.

And now, Poco executive Angus Kai, has given us when to expect MIUI 12.5 for the Poco X3 NFC.

Yep, you read that right. The Poco X3 NFC is expected to receive MIUI 12.5 stable by early August.

While the Indian Poco X3 – the one that comes sans NFC – has been omitted from the disclosure, it is safe to assume that it will receive the update around the same time, so you won’t have to wait for long.

However, there is another update timeline that differs slightly from the one shared by the Poco executive. A reliable Poco Community moderator claims that the update may even be released as early as the end of July.

Either way, the bottom line is that the Poco X3 NFC and Poco X3 will be getting treated to MIUI 12.5 in just a few weeks from now. When that happens, we will be updating our Poco MIUI 12.5 update tracker asap, so stay tuned to it.

The Indian Poco X3 will also receive the MIUI 12.5 stable update sometime this month as per a community mod.
