New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on August 08, 2020) follows:
Poco seems to be having a tough time releasing the MIUI 12 update for its devices. A couple of days ago, we reported that the Poco F1 MIUI 12 update was postponed yet again citing bugs and stability issues. The company had also planned to release the MIUI 12 update for the Poco X2 in August.
As it turns out, Poco did release the much-awaited skin for the device yesterday. This new update arrived without going through the usual Mi Pilot testing. Instead, the stable build was released directly to users.
Unfortunately, it seems that the decision to release the update without prior user testing has backfired. This is because Poco has now paused the rollout of the stable MIUI 12 update for the Poco X2.
The information was shared via the official Pocophone Global, Poco X2, and Poco India Telegram groups. According to the announcement on all three official groups, the update has been paused due to some bugs and glitches. But a newer, more stable version will be released in a few days.
“MIUI 12 Stable for POCO X2 | V12.0.1.0
⚠️ Update has been pulled back due to some bugs and glitches, more stable version will be rolled out in a few days.”
Users who installed the stable MIUI 12 build that was released yesterday for the Poco X2 can roll back to the previous MIUI 11 build in case they aren’t willing to deal with the bugs and glitches.
Of course, we will continue to track the rollout and will post an update once we get a hold of new information. In the meantime, you can check out our MIUI 12 update tracker to know when it arrives on your device.
Update 1 (August 17)
Xiaomi has now resumed the rollout of the stable MIUI 12 update for the Poco X2 which it had paused due to bugs. The update is rolling out with the same software version as before i.e., 12.0.1.0.QGHINXM. Check out more details along with the download link here.
Update 2 (August 25)
It appears that the banned Clean Master application has been brought back to the Poco X2 after users installed the new MIUI 12 update. Users now have the option to select the Clean Master definition for scanning the phone once again. See the full story here.
