Devices running MIUI may be getting new features with almost every update, but the software skin is nowhere close to perfection thanks to a slew of bugs and performance issues plaguing not only MIUI 12, but also the latest MIUI 12.5.
The performance issues and lags are a particular cause of concern though, particularly on budget devices.
In fact, the situation had gotten so bad that Xiaomi was forced to remove several features from cheaper devices in an attempt to boost performance. This, unfortunately, had little to no positive effect.
But it’s not just the budget devices that are suffering. We previously highlighted how the Poco X3 Pro reportedly suffers from lag issues despite having a flagship processor (Snapdragon 860).
Xiaomi had claimed that MIUI 12.5 would be solving these performance issues by incorporating several improvements including prioritization of gestures, reducing CPU usage, and device-specific optimizations.
However, now that several devices have already gotten the update, complaints are still commonplace. As a result, Poco device owners have begun to hunt for alternatives to MIUI 12 and MIUI 12.5.
Hey Peeps, I own a POCO F1. I am so fed up with MIUI at this point. Do you guys have any recommendations for clean and consistent Custom ROM

Can someone help me install a custom rom on my poco x3 pro? I find MIUI worse than it used to be and it hinders the true capability of this phone.

While there are many great ROMs available on the custom ROM ‘market’ for almost every Poco device, Pixel Experience is especially popular due to its minimalist approach – the inclusion of all things Google Pixel and nothing more.
The ROM is currently available for several Poco devices including the Poco X3, Poco X2, and Poco F1. But if it’s not, then are other highly recommended ROMs like ArrowOS, EvolutionX, Corvus, and OctaviOS worth flashing.
If users are able to overcome the barrier of a locked bootloader and a bit of hassle, then the true performance potential of the device is easily unlockable through custom ROMs.
Several Poco users have shared positive reviews following the installation of custom ROMs and have noted improved stability, increased smoothness, better battery life, and of course, zero bloatware.
Just flashed Pixel Experience on Poco F1. Holy shit this phone just got even better. I am now sad it took me so long to finally get rid of MIUI. I had so many issues with unlocking bootloader on Ryzen and finally had to borrow a laptop with Intel CPU and from there it went kinda smooth.

If you happen to be a newbie and wish to check out the complete installation procedure for custom ROMs, then the Poco X3 Pixel Experience installation guide would be a great place to start.
