New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…
Original story (published on September 10, 2020) follows:
Many third-party launchers are available for Android phones but there are only a few that actually come in quite handy. Among them, the Poco Launcher from Xiaomi Inc. which offers some of the best features.
To recall, we tried the Poco Launcher 2.0 back in 2019 and found out some handy features like the app drawer with smart categories. Also, it was recently reported that a new version of the launcher is under testing.
The report came from a Reddit post where a user was sporting Poco Launcher 3.0 on MIUI 12 with some new features like Control Center pull out gestures, navigation bar, full screen gestures 3.0, and a new process manager.
It must be noted that Poco Launcher, like any other third-party launcher, can be used on any Android device that is compatible with it. This is one of the many reasons why Android users prefer it.
While it is unclear when the Poco Launcher 3.0 update will arrive, a new update is indeed live for the launcher. The OEM has recently released the update version 2.7.4.10 which offers performance optimizations and bug fixes.
What’s new:
- We fixed some bugs in this version
- Optimized performance and improved the fluency
However, there some issues that users are facing with the launcher. We reported earlier about the animations issue which was being worked upon. It is unclear whether the new update brings fixes for that issue but you can help find out about that.
If you are a Poco Launcher user and have installed the latest update then feel free to drop a comment below outlining all the improvements that you noticed. That said, we hope Xiaomi soon releases the Poco Launcher 3.0 update with even more improvements and new features.
Meanwhile, the MIUI 12 update rollout is live and we happen to have a dedicated tracker for that so be sure to check it out your Xiaomi device is yet to bag the latest custom skin.
