Poco Launcher came out with Pocophone F1, also known as Poco F1 in India, alongside Xiaomi’s MIUI skin.
Since the MIUI 12 update came out, users of Poco devices started getting eager for a major update for the launcher.
Also, it was reported back in early September that the Poco Launcher 3.0 update was under development and it will be released via Google Play Store.
While that is yet to transpire, recent reports from the Poco team suggest that the launcher might get a new update this month, i.e. in October, with a bunch of improvements.
As per a recent announcement post on the MIUI Channel on Telegram, the launcher update is slated to bring new animations, navigation pill (bottom bar), and improvements for system and stability.
Good news for poco launcher users,
According to the poco Team. A new update is Ready to release in this October. Which includes
*New animations
*Nav pill ( Bar)
*and other system improvements and stability
No ETA has been provided in the announcement post while it has also been suggested that the expected release date might change.
Nevertheless, this is still good news for those who have been waiting for an update for their favorite launcher.
It must be noted that some users also started demanding that Poco Launcher should be replaced by the MIUI 12 system launcher while the OEM further made it confusing with the release of the Poco C3 in India.
It is evident from our recent poll on whether Poco should have its own UI or stick to MIUI that users of Poco devices are more inclined towards having a standalone Poco UI.
However, recent reports from a Poco India official also indicate that the supposedly independent OEM has no plans to switch to a custom software platform.
This means that Poco devices will keep getting MIUI-based software updates for the time being and users will have to make do with Poco Launcher.
That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide updates when new information becomes available.
