Poco Launcher 3.0 based on MIUI 12 reportedly under development, update to release via Google Play Store

With the release of the Poco F1, Poco also introduced a new home screen launcher alongside the regular MIUI skin. One of the most noticeable changes was the addition of an app drawer in the Poco launcher.

Since its release, Poco has updated the launcher a couple of times and has added new features and improvements. Back in 2019, we gave Poco Launcher 2.0 a try and shared our findings. And till now, Poco’s home screen launcher hasn’t received any major updates.

However, with the release of MIUI 12, it was but obvious that Poco will be releasing a major update for the Poco Launcher. Matter of fact, Poco has already begun rolling out the latest skin for some of its devices as you can see by heading to our dedicated tracker.

In a new development, a Redditor has posted a video on the platform showing off what appears to be the Poco Launcher 3.0 based on MIUI 12. The title of the post does mention that it’s currently in its developmental stage.

Therefore, what we see in the short video clip may be tweaked with the final release. Furthermore, the same user also shared a changelog for the MIUI 12-based Poco Launcher version 3.0 that we’ve added below:

1. getures to pull out contorl centre

2. navigation bar

3. full screen gestures 3.0

4. new process manager

Of course, this isn’t the official changelog thus we’d suggesting taking the information with a pinch of salt.

But that’s not all. In response to a user’s question on the Mi forums, a moderator also stated that an update will be released via the Google Play Store once Poco Launcher 3.0 is ready.

The launcher updates will be via PlayStore, and will be updated when v3.0 is ready.

This means that Poco is indeed preparing to release the new Poco Launcher version 3.0 based on MIUI 12 for its devices. Unfortunately, there’s no ETA for its release thus we will have to wait until more details emerge.
