The beauty of Android lies in its diversity. The platform boasts hundreds of different OEMs, all trying to differentiate themselves from each other using their various skinned versions of Android. One result of this is tons of built-in features. Features that you would otherwise need a third-party app for.

Case in point, call recording. The Google Play Store is awash with apps that allow users to record calls but some OEMs are striving to offer this feature out-of-the-box.

Xiaomi has, in the recent past, enabled built-in call recording on a number of its devices including the Xiaomi Mi A3, Mi A2 Lite, and the Mi A2 through various OTA updates. This is a very welcome addition as it is one less app that a user needs to install on their device.

This is in line with the company’s move to include this feature on many of its devices before the end of 2020. More on that here. Today, the company, through a Feedback Team member on its forum has confirmed that the Poco F2 Pro will also get the call recording feature in an upcoming update.

“Hello, Thank you for writing to the feedback subforum. Call recording features will available soon on Poco F2 Pro with upcoming update. For MIUI 12 update- please refer to this link- https://en.miui.com for better assistance. Thanks.”

The company has not shared any exact timelines for when exactly this update might be rolling out to eligible devices but we do know that Xiaomi plans to get this feature out to many of its devices by the end of 2020 and that is all we know at the moment.

For now, Poco F2 Pro users might want to keep their eyes peeled for an upcoming update to their device that should bring this feature. Also, note that MIUI 12 update for the Chinese variant of the Poco F2 Pro – Redmi K30 Pro – started rolling out to some devices on June 19.

Update 1 (September 17)
