Google’s Android 12 is still in its development phase with beta 4 being the latest update. While many Pixel owners have been running the Android 12 beta 4 update, there are still some issues with it.
Among them, the Phone app crashing, Google Play System update reverting, System Intelligence keeps stopping, and more problems.
Now, another issue with Android 12 beta 4 has come to light where several Google Pixel users are unable to install the latest Carrier Services update.
The Carrier Services app from Google is responsible for enabling the latest communication services and enhanced feature support to the Messages app.
However, multiple reports on a Reddit thread outline that those running the Android 12 beta 4 are unable to install the latest update for Carrier Services.
Not updating here either. I guess that they are going to push a new update that will just work. In the meantime I tried uninstalling updates to fix the issue without success so I’m staying on this version after uninstalling. Let’s see how long it takes for a new version to be pushed.

The issue, which appears to be widespread, affects the Google Pixel 4a, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 5, and more Pixel devices.
The exact cause of this problem is unclear but it is clearly inconveniencing Android 12 beta 4 users.
However, affected users have come up with a rather simple workaround to isolate the issue with the Carrier Services update.
It seems leaving the beta program then updating Carrier Services and joining the program back fixes the issue.
While this is not a permanent solution for the issue, it is worth a shot especially because Google has not yet made any comments on the matter.
Thus, if you are also unable to install the latest Carrier Service update on your Pixel running Android 12 beta 4, be sure to give the aforementioned workaround a go.
Hopefully, Google fixes all such bugs and issues on Android 12 before it finally comes out later this year.
That said, we are constantly tracking the development of Android 12 and will report back as and when new info becomes available.
