New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on May 18, 2021) follows:
Persona 5, a role-playing game developed by Atlus back in 2016, still enjoys a separate gamer base that enjoys a fantasy-based theme.
The game revolves around the story of troubled high school chaps and extends for a long 100+ game hours, which may even take longer depending on how you play it.
Persona 5 is available for PlayStation 3 and 4 and in fact, comes free for being a PlayStation Plus Collection game.
Some folks who recently decided to give Persona 5 a shot found out the game no longer is available for free in the store.
What makes it stupefying is the fact that the game (not Persona 5 Royal) is clearly mentioned to come as part of the PlayStation Collection and should be free if you have a PS Plus subscription.
Other games in the PlayStation Plus Collection work just fine with exactly the same price as mentioned. It is only Persona 5 that comes with a hefty tag of £49.99 (around 60 USD).
This issue is faced by players across the globe, irrespective of the country they belong to.
Affected users got nothing back from support when they reached out to them. But fortunately, PlayStation UK support has come forward to acknowledge the issue.
This brings some ray of hope for those who wish to play the game. While it is being fixed, game creators would be hoping players don’t get displeased by the long wait.
It’s highly likely that the high cost is due to a bug or glitch on PlayStation which shouldn’t take much longer for PlayStation to fix.
Update 1 (May 24, 2021)
IST 05:55 pm It appears that the issue has finally been fixed and the game can be downloaded for free, claims some users.

I didn’t do anything special. Yesterday tried again and it worked. I wasn’t able to add since 2 weeks. (Source)
