Oppo has had a pretty decent run in terms of the rollout of Android 11-based ColorOS 11 to its eligible devices. Check out more on that here.
This is especially impressive when looking at its extensive pool of eligible devices in comparison to companies with relatively slim portfolios like say OnePlus and how they’ve rolled out Android 11 to their devices.
While most OEMs are working hard towards the conclusion of the rollout of their respective Android 11-based custom skins to eligible devices, Oppo is inching ever so close to that goal with yet another device.
Today, reports coming in indicate that Oppo is rolling out stable builds of Android 11-based ColorOS 11 to users of the Reno Ace. To recall, this update was expected in Q1 of 2021.
In a tweet from a user of the Oppo Reno Ace in Japan, the device just received an update that brought with it the much-awaited Android 11 update to their device.
The update which bears software version number PCLM10_11_F.04 brings ColorOS 11.1 to this device.
At the time of writing, it is still unclear if this is the official widespread rollout or a soak test by Oppo to ensure there are no serious bugs before the update is seeded to more users.
Seeing as we still don’t have an official release statement from Oppo on this update just yet, chances are that the former is true and users should sit tight and look forward to a wider rollout of the update.
We shall continue to keep an eye on this and update as and when we get more info so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
