New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…
Original story (published on May 12, 2021) follows:
Today, more and more people consume media online using the various available content streaming platforms, free or paid.
Platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime have seen increased usage due to ongoing global crisis that necessitates users to spend much of their free time indoors.
With the increased content consumption on mobile devices, it is becoming ever more crucial to have Widevine L1 certification of the said devices.
Widevine L1 certification allows users to stream HD content from various platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime videos, just to mention but a few.
Now, users of the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom report that Widevine L1 certification is missing on the devices and instead, they have to make do with the Widevine L3 that doesn’t support said HD content.
Why oppo reno 10x zoom’s widevine is changed to L3 after last update of coloros 11..??

There are reports from users of the Reno 10X Zoom from as far back as March this year (1,2,3), complaints about missing L1 certification.
In the latest update on reno 10x zoom i.e color os 11.1 android 11, widevine security level has been changed to l3 from l1 due to which not able to stream hd content on Netflix or other streaming services.
Pl. Patch the security update to l1 on this expensive smartphone.

It looks as though these complaints have been heard by Oppo after all. This, as the company has moved to assure users that this is being looked into by the developers.
In response to one of the user complaints, Oppo Care’s official Indian handle on Twitter goes to say:
Hi Amit, please be informed that we are aware of this and are working on the same to resolve it at the earliest. Kindly stay tuned with us and keep your device’s software updated. Thank you.

With that, it is only a matter of time before users of the Reno 10X Zoom get a fix for this issue on their devices, or at least we hope.
Oppo has had a pretty solid run when it comes to testing and the deployment of Android 11 builds to its eligible devices. It is issues like this that hold the potential to taint an otherwise pretty good image.
We shall continue to keep an eye on this and update as and when we get more info so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
