Oppo has a pretty strong brand identity in many regions across Asia, Europe and Africa. And for good reason; the company produces some really good devices at a fairly affordable price, at least compared to the industry’s big dogs.
Couple this with the company’s own custom Android skin that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional and you have yourself a pretty potent combination that continues to yield admirable results.
The company has a pretty busy release schedule and we often see a new device from a single lineup almost biannually. However, to the company’s credit, it still manages to update and maintain them pretty well.
Case in point, the Oppo A93. Launched back in October 2020, the device offers users a decent Android experience with modest, yet capable specs, all at a pretty affordable price.
The Helio P95-powered device came with the company’s Android 10-based custom skin, ColorOS 7.2 and a promise of an update to Android 11-based ColorOS 11. Early this year, we saw reports from users of the Oppo A93 that Android 11 Beta was rolling out to select users who had enrolled to the beta program.
Fast forward several weeks and it seems as though the firmware is finally baked and ready for primetime. This as reports have it that Android 11-based ColorOS 11 is rolling out to users of the Oppo A93.
When asked by a user on Twitter about the status of the ColorOS 11 update to the Oppo A93, the official handle responds, indicating that the update is rolling out to users in Malaysia.
The Official Version update of ColorOS 11 based on Android 11 for OPPO A93 in Malaysia has been released. Please go to settings > software update to get the update. Thanks!
This is, no doubt, good news to users who have been holding off from installing the beta builds of Android 11 on their devices in fear of facing catastrophic bugs and annoying issues.
It remains unclear when exactly Oppo plans to roll out this stable release to users of the Oppo A93 in other regions but if history is anything to go by, this shouldn’t take too long.
For these users, they might want to sit tight and look forward to this update soon. You might also want to go to Settings > Software update to check for the availability of this build on your device.
We shall continue to keep an eye on this rollout and update as and when we get more info so stay tuned. You might also want to check out our dedicated Oppo Android 11 tracker for more on how Oppo is rolling out ColorOS 11 to eligible devices.
