Our modern smartphones are incredibly capable, some even out-spec’ing decently priced and fairly capable laptops.

This means that we’ve reached a point where we can expect the same level of functionality as our laptops out of our phones.

But these phones only work well in the connected age that we live in today. We need connectivity to take advantage of all the online platforms and social media forums and to keep in touch with family and friends.

Understandably, these marvelous pieces of tech are rendered considerably useless when they are unable to connect to the internet properly.

This is the situation that a section of OnePlus device owners are finding themselves in, especially when trying to connect their devices to the internet using Wi-Fi.

I have been using my new 8 pro for a week and everything has been perfect. However, this morning the wifi does not work. I can connect to the wifi but it says no internet, then it goes to a loop of searching – connect – no wifi – dropping – searching. All my other devices don’t have this problem. I have read the threads and tried all the solutions, but the problem still resist. I was wondering what I can do to solve the problem and hoping the OnePlus team can help me on this.

According to many of these reports, the said OnePlus devices do connect to the Wi-Fi networks but the issue arises as the devices indicate that the connected networks have no internet.

This, despite the Wi-Fi networks indeed having a decent and stable internet connection.

From the Reddit post shown above, this doesn’t seem to have been fixed. Two days after the initial post and it already has 250+ upvotes with more and more users chiming in to voice their frustrations with their OnePlus Wi-Fi connectivity issues.

Also coming to light is the fact that this might not be a OnePlus-exclusive issue. Some reports have been noted of LG devices, Google Pixel 3 XL, Huawei P40 Pro among others.

OnePlus has a support page titled ‘My phone connects to Wi-Fi, but there is no Internet‘, presumably offering affected users a few troubleshooting guidelines to fix this issue.
