Many OEMs have provided the Android 10 update to their devices while some are still rolling out the update. However, there are many devices that will not get the Android 10 update simply because the OEMs do not support them anymore. One such device is OnePlus One.

Released way back in 2014, OnePlus One was the device that put OnePlus on the map. The smartphone came with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box and was upgradeable to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Many users were and are still fond of its Sandstone Black finish while the specifications it offered were also top-notch at the time. However, OnePlus moved on and gave us many more flagship devices.

Now, with no hopes of ever getting another official Android update, OnePlus One is just another legacy device. Nevertheless, custom ROMs like LineageOS come to the rescue of such legacy devices. Those of you who are into modding and custom ROMs, get ready as you’re in for a big surprise.

OnePlus One can now be upgraded as the Android 10 based LineageOS 17.1 is available for the smartphone. It seems that LineageOS developers are hell bent on keeping OnePlus One alive as LineageOS 17.1 offers a lot more than just Android 10.

The custom ROM is also available for the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact. While Sony has already pushed the official Android 10 update to both devices, those who are looking for more customization options should definitely try LineageOS.

Be sure to check out the official LineageOS page to see if it is available for any other device that you own. Also, have a look at our other LineageOS stories by heading here.
