This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (May 4) follows:
So, just after being launched recently with all the hype around the device, OnePlus 8 Pro has fallen prey to an issue, which does not seem to be going away easily.
As you might have guessed, we are talking about the green tint and the black-crush display issue, that has been reported by several users on their OnePlus 8 Pro units.
OnePlus was also prompt in acknowledging this issue and assured the OnePlus 8 Pro users that a new update will fix this problem on their devices. And a couple of days ago, OnePlus pushed the OxygenOS 10.5.6 update.
Just when users were thinking that the bugfix update has finally arrived and the green tint and black crush display issue will be resolved, it turns out that the latest update does not do anything to fix the issues.
Matter of fact, the changelog also does not mention anything related to fixing any of the display issues, surfaced on the handset. Here is what the changelog reads:
Changelog:
System
– Fixed known issues and improved system stability
Camera
– Refined the dirt detection capability to be more accurate than ever
– Improved the camera’s shooting experience with teh front camera
– Improved the stability(Source)
Going by the user reports on Reddit and other platforms, several users have confirmed that this new update does not bring any fixes for the green tint or the black crush issue and the problem is still existing on their handsets.
We have already reported that OnePlus has confirmed that it is a hardware related problem and the latest update does not do anything good in fixing them. Moreover, the company is also offering a refund, replacement, or repair offers for its users.
Also taking into account the gibberish and irrelevant solutions and responses by the OnePlus customer support, OnePlus 8 Pro users are pretty baffled with the OEM. Some are also blaming the company to have taken the decision of launching OnePlus 8 Pro in haste.
Whatever the case may be, all such issues, affect the end-users who shell out almost $1000 for a recently launched device from a reputed brand, only to left with problems. So as of now, the green tint and black crush issue is yet to be properly addressed by the company.
