The OnePlus 9 series has left many tech enthusiasts in splits. Some love the new flagships from OnePlus while others claim the company has finally ‘settled’.

Whatever the case, the two new phones from OnePlus are still some of the best Android phones you can get your hands on.

Of course, the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro come with the best hardware and specs including the Snapdragon 888 chipset, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage.

To keep things running fast and smooth, OnePlus has also introduced the Turbo Boost 3.0 feature with the new devices.

Turbo Boost 3.0 essentially uses the phone’s high-speed UFS 3.1 storage as RAM for apps that are ‘inactive’ in the background. According to OnePlus, this helps the device keep 25% more apps open at once.

Now, the good news here is that it appears OnePlus will be bringing the Turbo Boost 3.0 feature to the OnePlus 8 series and 8T.

This information came from a staff member on OnePlus’ community forums who responded to a user’s query regarding the availability of Turbo Boost 3.0 for older models by stating that the 8 series and 8T will support it.

Therefore, OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and 8T users can expect to get the Turbo Boost 3.0 feature via a future OTA update.

The kicker here is that the staff member did not provide an ETA for the availability of Turbo Boost 3.0 for the aforementioned smartphones.

That said, we’ll keep track of the situation and will post an update if and when the company decides to release the new feature for the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and 8T.

In the meantime, you can head here to know more about the upcoming OxygenOS 12 update that will be based on Android 12.
