Compared to other OEMs, OnePlus maintains a pretty slim portfolio of devices and this allows the company to be very engaging with its users, listening to and addressing their issues.
In the recent past, we’ve seen OnePlus double down in its push to cover more price segments in the industry but that doesn’t erase the fact that it is one of the most consumer-oriented OEMs today.
This, therefore, explains why users of OnePlus devices are quick to engage with the company as soon as something seems a miss with their devices.
Owners of the OnePlus 7 series of devices and the OnePlus 7T have found themselves knocking on the door of OnePlus one too many times in the past few days following a recent update.
See, we recently saw OnePlus rollout the November security patch the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro and the OnePlus 7T. This update brought with it a few system enhancements and unfortunately, bugs.
We already talked about an issue faced by these users where they were unable to use their USB-C to 3.5mm dongles after the recent November security patch and seemingly, there is more bugs in that build.
According to a section of users, their devices are exhibiting unusually high battery usage following that update. Here are some of the reports from OnePlus 7T users in India and other regions that we gathered from the community forums.
the battery backup time is completely messed up right now in my OnePlus 7T. I am completely disappointed with OnePlus . users who bought OnePlus devices for their software stability is losing faith in them. I don’t think staying this way , OnePlus can retain it’s premium range mobile market share in India. many of it’s competitors are providing their products with a far more better stability than OnePlus right now . sorry to say this oneplus you’re losing your way.

It affects our loyalty and you wont even know when all oneplus users might just turn to samsung as they are promising 3 years of software update now with much better battery backup. Also bullets z have been causing lot of issue with 7t idk about different users but for the voice of the person other side has been breaking but not while its on speaker. Thag means its a problem with bullets z. Do look into it Oneplus.

Some of the users are noting poorer screen-on-time on their devices by up to an hour with the November update being the only difference between then and now. Others are reporting laggy systems and overheating issues.
The reports just keep on trickling in (1,2,3,4,5,6) and almost all of them came within the past week, following the rollout of the said update.
OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro users haven’t been spared either. In the week following the rollout of OxygenOS 10.0.10 to the EU OnePlus 7 Pro and 10.3.7 to the Indian and Global units of OnePlus 7, there have been countless reports of battery issues.
The reports (1,2,3,4,5,6) are awfully similar to the ones put forward by users of the OnePlus 7T, all pointing to a recent change following the said update.
At the time of writing, OnePlus was yet to acknowledge this battery drain issue on the said OnePlus 7 devices or even the USB-C to 3.5mm dongle issue we previously highlighted.
We shall continue to keep an eye on this story and update as soon as there is new development so stay tuned.
