The Picture-in-picture (PIP) mode is a popular feature on Android devices. It creates a small inset window for videos or games when users switch to a different task.
The said feature is quite common on Android devices nowadays, however, OnePlus users are facing a problem with the Picture-in-picture mode.
It seems that there is a bug with the Picture-in-picture mode on multiple OnePlus devices including the OnePlus 7, 7T, 8, 8 Pro, 8T, and Nord.
As per user reports, the inset window created by the Picture-in-picture mode appears at the bottom of the screen overlapped by the navigation bar.
Also, the inset window even overlaps the keyboard and disappears when moved while the media continues to play in the background.
It is unclear what is causing this issue but reports do indicate that the issue might be with OnePlus’ OxygenOS.
However, affected users may not have to face this bug for long as it is already being looked into.
According to a couple of OnePlus Staff Members, the relevant team is aware of the said issue and it will be fixed in future updates.

While this is good news for those facing the said issue, there is no word on how long it will take for the fix to finally arrive.
OnePlus used to deliver faster software updates but that has changed along with the quality of its software.
Hopefully, the OEM fixes this and more such issues soon so that people can use their devices without any hassle.
That said, we will keep tracking this and will report back once we have more details to share so stay tuned.
