A new Android Pie-based OnePlus 6 open beta build has arrived.
There are a lot of changes in this third open beta, prime among them being ability to launch installed assistant apps like Google Assistant quickly.
This new feature is dubbed ‘Quick activate the assistant app’.
It allows you to launch Google Assistant (or any other virtual assistant app installed on your OnePlus 6) by pressing and holding the device’s power button for half a second.
As the screenshot above explains, to turn off the device, you’ll now need to press and hold the power button for at least 3 seconds.
Moving on, the Parallel Apps feature now supports more apps, including Telegram, Discord, IMO, Uber, and OLA.
The update also fixes stability problems with ambient display, face unlock, and fingerprint scanner. Sadly, the change log doesn’t elaborate on these issues.
Then there is new OnePlus Switch version (2.1.0).
The changes here include a new manual connection method (for cases when connection using QR code isn’t working) and support for backup and recovery for app data including home screen, lock screen, and app layout.
Not only this, the new OnePlus Switch version also offers support for more Android models as well as squashes some known bugs.
