OnePlus is known for its flagship devices but the OEM is also among the fastest to deliver software updates. There is still some time before OnePlus Nord is available to purchase and the OEM has already rolled out two updates to the device.

OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T were the OEM’s flagships for 2018 and the devices came with Android 8.1 Oreo and Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box respectively. Since then, both devices have been upgraded to Android 10-based OxygenOS 10 while also receiving monthly security updates.

Now, the OnePlus 6/6T are receiving the July security patch with the OxygenOS 10.3.5 update. The incremental update also offers the new OnePlus Buds adaptation along with the updated May Google mobile services (GMS) package.

Also, many users have been facing the Chrome browser crash issue and this update brings a fix for that among other improvements. Here’s the complete changelog from the OEM:

OnePlus has mentioned that the update will have a staged rollout and the OTA will be received by limited users. Nevertheless, a broader rollout for the rest of OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T users is expected once the OEM is satisfied with the OxygenOS 10.3.5 build quality.

It must be noted that the OnePlus 6/6T are slated to get the Android 11 update. This means that it will be the second OS update for OnePlus 6T and third for OnePlus 6. Going by the OEM’s trend, the Android 11 update may arrive for both devices by Q2 of 2021.
