OnePlus recently unveiled the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, the latter marking the company’s official take on the big boys with a couple of top-end features like wireless charging and IP68 dust and water resistance.

These two were perhaps some of the most requested features for years now, but OnePlus stuck with its approach of skimping on certain aspects of the device in order to keep the price affordable.

But with the OnePlus 8 Pro, the Chinese vendor went full-on, but this also comes at a price of $899, becoming the most expensive OnePlus smartphone yet. The devices have OxygenOS 10 based on Android 10 pre-installed, an OS that is already running on OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 6 series.

OnePlus 5 and 5T Android 10 update release date

Earlier this year, we got wind that the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T Android 10 update will be out in Q2 2020. With the first month already halfway, things are looking good, at least for folks in China using HydrogenOS variants of the 5 and 5T.

About a month ago, a leaked HydrogenOS 10 firmware suggested that testing was underway. Today, there is a new H2OS firmware for the two devices, once again based on Android 10. Apparently, this is the third beta installation.

The update brings the stable OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T Android 10 update a step closer, although we still don’t know how many more beta updates are being lined up. What looks likely, though, is that the global 5 and 5T may skip the beta testing phase and jump straight to the stable version.

There is still plenty of time between now and the end of Q2 2020, which is the period in which the duo is expected to receive their OxygenOS 10 update. We will keep an eye on the development and let you know when the global version rolls out.
