New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on August 21, 2020) follows:
Samsung surprised us all at its latest UNPACKED event by announcing that it will now provide up to three major OS updates for some of its devices. And a couple of days ago, it released the official list of devices that will be getting the said 3 OS updates.
Speaking of updates, we had earlier reported that Samsung might be working on the One UI 2.5 update for the Galaxy S10 series. Thus, it was but obvious that the One UI 2.5 update would roll out for the S20 series soon.
And apparently it seems that Samsung has already begun rolling out the One UI 2.5 update for the Galaxy S20 series in Europe. The update comes with the build number BTH5 and it is available on the Galaxy S20 4G, Galaxy S20 5G, Galaxy S20+ 4G, Galaxy S20+ 5G, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
Users are also beginning to confirm that they have received the new update. We’ve added a screenshot shared by a user on Twitter as well as a screenshot of a Redditor who has confirmed receiving the update below:

The update is based on Android 10 itself and brings the new features that are found on the Galaxy Note 20 series to the S20 series. Earlier, we reported that modders managed to port the new apps from the Note 20 to other Android 10-powered Samsung devices.
But now that the official One UI 2.5 skin is rolling out for the Galaxy S20 series, it’s only a matter of time before other eligible models start receiving the update. Nevertheless, we will continue tracking the rollout and will post an update once it goes live in other regions.
In the meantime, head here to know whether your Samsung phone is eligible for the One UI 2.5 update or not.

IST: 11:31 am: The One UI 2.5 update seems to have broked GCAM on the Galaxy S20 series. First spotted by NoteBookCheck, many users are reporting that GCAM crashes or they aren’t able to use the front camera or rear camera. The root cause of the problem may be due to some changes in RAW Capture permissions with One UI 2.5.
That’s not all. Galaxy S20 users are also facing GPS tracking issues after installing the One UI 2.5 update on their devices. Applications such as Google Maps and Waze have been rendered useless due to the bug. To know more, head here.
