New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on November 10, 2022) follows:
O2 is one of the best-known telecommunications carriers in the UK. Last year, the company merged with Virgin Media, but each maintains some of its own services.
One of the services offered by O2 is the ‘Priority’ app through which users can access prizes, offers and more. For instance, subscribers can access tickets for live shows and events at special prices.
That said, a recent outage caused the O2 app and website to be down, thus complicating the ticket purchase process through the Priority app.
O2 app & website down, users unable to purchase Priority tickets and getting error 503/504
According to multiple reports, O2 customers are unable to access their accounts (both from the website and from the app).
First, when users try to access the O2 website, they just get error 503 or 504. This means that users have no way to check their account status at the moment.
The O2 Priority app being down kinda sums up the shitshow of its network at the minute. Signal is consistently turd.

Not me being loyal to the core to @O2 and refusing to leave despite problem after problem… but the o2 priority app being down when the @peterkay_co_uk tickets are due to go on sale?!

There is also a problem with purchasing tickets through the O2 Priority program. According to reports, after waiting for hours in a digital queue many are still being kicked out of it.
Wishing I was a three customer now at least they anticipated demand no o2 priority on the @Ticketmaster website absolute farce @O2 @peterkay_co_uk

I thought Ticketmaster was bad getting @tenaciousd tickets last week. O2 is an absolute shower

In this case, the problem seems to be an overload in the capacity of the servers due to the high demand for tickets.
Official acknowledgment
The O2 support team is already aware of the problem and working on a fix. They also revealed that the cause of the server overload is a very high demand for Peter Kay show tickets.
We’re seeing unprecedented demand for Peter Kay tickets & we know a lot of you can’t access Priority. Sorry, we’re working on it.
Please be patient; this is by far the highest demand we’ve ever seen for Priority Tickets in 15 years. The presale lasts for 48h so keep checking.

The situation is quite frustrating, although it may have a solution. Those users interested in purchasing their Peter Kay tickets can try directly through Ticketmaster, but they may not have special O2 discounts.
you can still get them with Three on ticketmaster, its just o2 that is down

It’s worth pointing out that Three carrier users are dealing with the same issue on the Three+ app.
We will update this story as events unfold.

We’ve sold out our Priority Tickets for Peter Kay. We’ve seen extraordinary demand, our most popular presale ever. We’re sorry not all our customers were successful. General sale tickets for The O2 + UK arenas are released Saturday 10am. We wish everyone the best of luck! (Source)
