This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (published on September 16, 2020) follows:
Samsung’s custom skin on top of Android, One UI, has received so many positive reviews since its debut. The current edition, One UI 2.5, remains one of the most comprehensive Android experiences you can get from any device today.
We have seen the new skin steadily roll out to eligible devices since it debuted with the Galaxy Note 20 series of devices back in August. In line with that, we have a well-maintained dedicated tracker to keep tabs on the rollout of One UI 2.5.
The outgoing generation of Galaxy Note devices, the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus, are eligible for an update to One UI 2.5. We have seen the Note 10 and Note 10+ bag this update in Germany. The Note 10+ 5G has also received this update in Switzerland.
Well, reports coming in suggest that Samsung is further expanding the rollout of One UI 2.5 to the Galaxy Note 10 devices in more regions. According to user reports, the same has been sported by users of the Note 10 (SM-N975F) in India and Mexico. This update weighs in at a little over 1GB and brings with it the September 2020 security patch.
The same One UI 2.5 update is also being rolled out to more Note 10 devices all across Europe following the initial rollout in Switzerland. The update has been reported by users in regions such as Spain, Southeast Europe, Switzerland, Netherlands among others.
It is impressive to see just how fast Samsung is able to roll out these updates. We can only hope to see the same going out to more eligible devices in the coming weeks.
Even as that happens, development of One UI 3.0 seems to be kicking into high gear and today, thanks to a YouTube video by the Jimmy is Promo Channel, we get an in-depth look at some of the features that are coming to devices that are eligible for this Android 11-based update.
Some of these features include double-tap to wake, a redesigned sound/volume panel, a customizable in-call UI, a number of camera UI improvements, better power-saving management options, and a slightly reorganized settings menu.
As this is a pretty early build of One UI 3.0 and Android 11, we can expect the list of changes to increase over time and more issues to get ironed out as the launch-dates approach.
Samsung has come a long way in terms of rolling out updates to its devices. From the classic example of what is wrong with Android during the era of TouchWiz to what we’re seeing today. We can only hope to see other Android phone-makers aping this commendable trend.
