Nordstrom Rack website & app unable to add items to cart (place order or checkout)? Fix in the works, but no ETA

The subsidiary of the luxury online clothing store Nordstrom – Nordstrom Rack – seems to be running into several issues lately. The site recently suffered an outage wherein several functions within stopped working.

And although the outage has seemingly subdued, or at least that’s what the Isitdownrightnow site says, complaints from users about several problems have continued:

Love Nordstrom rack, but the app is terrible! Have issues adding items to cart, error message keeps popping up. Then half of the items in cart disappeared. Then couldnt checkout as an error message kept popping up, so had to log in on the website and luckily my items were still there.

So disappointed! App isn’t working correctly. EVERY time in 4 MONTHS I’ve tried to place my order it just keeps saying, “ERROR – SERVER RETURNED AN INVALID RESULT PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER”. As a result I’ve missed out on SO many items.

Yep, the issues seem to be affecting both the platform’s Android app and website. Some of these problems have been discussed here.

A group of Nordstrom Rack app users has reported that the favorites list doesn’t work at all. Item photos within it don’t load or are swapped erroneously with other items.

Some users have also reported that the app throws a server error when trying to purchase anything that reads “The server returned an invalid result. Please try again later.”

And lastly, several have complained that the add to cart function in both the Nordstrom Rack app and the website is broken. Trying to add results in error messages.

Items that were already added to the cart successfully even disappear on their own sometimes. Although if you bump into this issue, then accessing your cart from the site instead of the app may help. The lost items will hopefully still show up there.

Nonetheless, all of the above-mentioned issues make shopping through both the Nordstrom Rack app and website an extremely unintuitive and frustrating experience.

But thankfully, Nordstrom Rack’s official Twitter handle stated that they’re aware of the technical difficulties plaguing their shoppers recently and that their team is already working on addressing them.

However, an ETA was not provided meaning that users might have to wait a while before all of the issues finally vanish for good.
