Android 10 was officially unveiled back in September 2019 and its market share has only kept growing. As of March 2020, Android 10’s market share stood at a rather healthy 12.5% and that value is only set to keep growing.

More and more devices continue to get updated to Android 10. We have seen OEMs like Samsung and Nokia among many more, pushing out these updates. Today, Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco users can breathe easy as Android 10 is definitely coming to their device. This is following leaks of internal Beta builds for these two devices.

See, according to Nokia’s previously shared timelines for Android 10, the two devices are expected to get updated to Android 10 sometime within the second quarter of 2020. As such, these leaks might be an indication that the development really is in progress.

These being Beta builds, means that you might experience issues installing and running this piece of software so if possible, we strongly advise against flashing any of these ROMs on your current device.

Also worth noting that the process for flashing these beta builds is a little more complex on the Nokia 5.1 Plus. This is because the device runs on a Mediatek chipset and at the time of writing, Nokia does not have an official way to unlock the device’s bootloader, a step that is very important in the installation process.

However, if you manage to install the firmware using the given procedure, you can also install it on the Chinese variant of the same device, sold as the Nokia X5 in China and other regions. However, note that you should have cross-flashed the X5 with the international firmware beforehand.

The installation process for the Nokia 8 is pretty straight forward, at least compared to the Nokia 5.1 Plus. This is because the update packages can be sideloaded using the stock recovery image. That said, below are the download links to the leaked Beta builds.
