Original story (published on June 5, 2020) follows:
HMD Global is among the leaders when it comes to software update support. Regardless of the device’s price segment, providing regular software updates isn’t an issue for Android-powered Nokia smartphones.
Matter of fact, the Finnish company is the only one that guarantees two Android OS updates to some of the cheapest smartphones that money can buy, namely Nokia 1 and Nokia 1 Plus – something your favorite smartphone vendor won’t do.
Major Android OS updates aside, Nokia devices are also among the best when it comes to monthly security patches. Although the best thing to happen to any smartphone, sometimes these updates are not perfect.
The Nokia 3.1 Plus, for instance, has been unable to install the latest May 2020 security update. The update was made available a while ago and apparently, users are facing issues installing it on their handsets.
Affected users have taken to various platforms that include and are not limited to Nokia community and Twitter to vent their anger at the company for pushing a faulty update.
I am facing issue in installing the May 2020 security patch on my Nokia 3.1 Plus device. Tried multiple times also. Anyone facing such issue? Any solution for it?

Update 1 (August 27)
While Nokia released the Android 10 update for Nokia 3.1 Plus back in May this year, it brought in several issues and as a result the update was halted. A section of users were able to update their devices, however, the majority of users could not install the update and are still running Android 9 Pie.
Nokia has been rolling out security patches in the meantime but majority of users are still awaiting re-release of the Android 10 update. We are keeping track of the developments and will keep you posted of any further updates. Read full story here.
