The Nokia 2.1 released back in 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) pre-installed and has been in line to receive the Android 10 update. It already picked up the Android Pie update which brought along several new changes.

Previously, we had highlighted that the Nokia 2.1 supposedly received the update to Android 10, however, we had also debunked the information that since no Nokia 2.1 owner reported receiving any such update.

Since then, users have been waiting patiently to get the Android 10 Go update on their devices. But it seems that the wait is finally over because Nokia has released Android 10 Go for the Nokia 2.1.

The company made an official announcement stating that the update has been dispatched in ‘Waves’ and the following regions are part of the first wave: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

Furthermore, the new software will not be available to all users at once. Instead, Nokia claims that 10% of all these approved markets will receive the update today. Then, 50% will receive it by September 5, and by September 7, 100% of users will receive the update.

Of course, this implies to the regions that are part of the first wave. At present, Nokia has not divulged any details regarding the Android 10 (Go edition) rollout for the Nokia 2.1 in other markets.

Thus, users outside the regions listed above will have to continue waiting a bit longer for the update to arrive on their units. So make sure to keep an eye out on our dedicated tracker for the Android 10 rollout on Nokia devices.
