Original story (from April 29) follows:

Most Android-powered Nokia smartphones have Android One running the show. However, there are a few others that take a different route towards ensuring users enjoy the best experience regardless of how much they spend on their handset.

Dubbed Android Go, this version is meant to provide entry-level smartphones with a lightweight operating system that doesn’t take a toll on their modest performance hardware. The latest version is Android 10 Go Edition and the Nokia 1 Plus becomes the first device to get a taste of the OS.

Juho Sarvikas has just confirmed on Twitter that the Nokia 1 Plus Android 10 Go update has been dispatched.

Android 10 (Go edition) rollout for Nokia 1 Plus starts today. With so many new features, your phone will feel brand new all over again!

In another post made in the Nokia community forums, the company says the rollout is going down in waves. It doesn’t surprise us, though. Other Nokia Android 10 updates have been rolled out in the same manner.

Only 10% of all Nokia 1 Plus units sold globally will receive the update today. The next batch will make it 50% by May 2. The rollout is projected to complete by May 4. The markets in question (wave 1) are listed below:

Bahrain
Bangladesh
Egypt
Iran
Iraq
Jordan
Kuwait
Lebanon
Libya
Malaysia
Morocco
Oman
Pakistan
Qatar
Saudi Arabia
Sri Lanka
Tunisia
UAE
Yemen

While Nokia 1 Plus owners might be drowning in joy, the announcement tweet is swarmed by Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 3.1 Plus owners demanding to know when their units will receive Android 10.

As it stands, the former will get Android 10 in May while the latter’s update is just around the corner and will roll out anytime.

Update 1 (May 11)

Nokia 1 Plus Android 10 wave 2 has begun.

Wave 2 rollout for Nokia 1 Plus Android 10 update has started! All Markets that have approved the Android 10 release that weren’t in Wave 1 will now start to receive the update – 10% by today, 50% by May 14th and 100% by May 16th.
