While Xiaomi has released the stable version of its latest custom skin, MIUI 12, for a lot of devices, the MIUI 12 beta update program is still on for internal testing as well as Pilot testers.
The OEM has been constantly releasing the MIUI 12 beta updates with new features for numerous devices including the Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 Ultra, and Redmi K30 Pro (globally known as Poco F2 Pro).
Now, Xiaomi has released the MIUI 12 beta update version 20.9.22 for the aforementioned devices with some improvements for the Camera app.
The information comes from the Xiaomi & MIUI news Telegram channel where the announcement post was shared along with the beta update changelog
Update log
Camera
– New: New AI watermark adds 3 location watermarks and latitude and longitude watermarks
Adapted models: Redmi K30 Pro, Mi 10 Ultra
– Optimization: Video recording mode 8K video function entrance integrated into the top menu bar
Suitable models: Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10, Redmi K30 Pro, Mi 10 Pro
It must be noted that this beta update is meant only for internal testing and these changes might take some time to hit the stable channel.
Also, the same announcement post includes details about the suspension of the MIUI 12 beta update development which will have a global impact. More on that here.
Moreover, Xiaomi releases major updates in the home-country first which means that the global Redmi K30 Pro (Poco F2 Pro) units might get the update after a while.
It was earlier reported that the Redmi K30 Pro received the new Control Center gestures and animations with the MIUI 12 update version 12.0.9.0.QJKCNXM but the same is still awaited for the Poco F2 Pro units.
The Mi 10 series and Redmi K30 Pro have also received the Android 11-based MIUI 12 update in China but the likes of Redmi Note 8 are still awaiting Android 10 along with MIUI 12.
The temporary suspension of MIUI 12 beta update will further affect the third batch of MIUI 12 update rollout schedule and also the development of Android 11.
That said, we will keep tracking the development of MIUI 12 as well as Android 11 and will provide updates when more information becomes available.
