Netflix support says playback error (Cannot play title. Please try again later) should be fixed after latest iOS 14.4 update

Netflix is reasonably the most versatile streaming service on the planet offering one of the widest range of movies, documentaries, cartoon shows, TV series, and even originals.

And while it is nowhere close to Amazon Prime Video in terms of cost, the streaming service has from time to time proven that its main focus is not making compromises in quality. Hence, it continues to crush its competitors.

Nonetheless, even the best of the best software isn’t completely free from any kind of issue and Netflix is a good example of that.

Several users had been complaining for the past couple of weeks that they would encounter a “Cannot play title. Please try again later” playback error on the Netflix iOS app every once in a while.

The issue would get triggered for no particular reason and interrupt an episode or a movie with the annoying error atop a black screen.

But what’s worse about it was the fact that it would occur randomly every 20 minutes or so and thus effectively ruin the Netflix binge-watching experience.

That said, the good news is that Netflix has stated on Twitter that the issue should be gone after updating to the recently released iOS 14.4 update.

This points towards the possibility that the issue was some sort of compatibility problem between Netflix and iOS which has now been addressed with iOS 14.4.

Hence, if all goes well, then updating your iPhone to the latest iOS version should make the Netflix playback error disappear for good.

However, if for some reason, you still did not receive the update, then you can force your device to verify its availability from Settings > General > Software Update.
