In the past few chapters of My Hero Academia, Rumi Usagiyama, also known as Rabbit Hero: Mirko, has been in the spotlight. She was able to pin down Dr. Ujiko with her aggressiveness. However, things got a little out of hand when Dr. Ujiko released a group of high-end nomus.
Unwilling to yield and let the opportunity to catch Dr. Ujiko slip, Mirko pressed on. The other heroes know she needs back-up, but are currently pinned down by the enemies. Furthermore, a highly modified and improved Tomura Shigaraki is about to emerge from his capsule.
Mirko in trouble
Without a doubt, Mirko’s top five hero rating is not born out of politics. Mirko’s statistics according to the Ultra Analysis Book are as follows:
Power – 5/6 A+
Speed – 5/6 A+
Technique – 3/6 C
Intelligence – 3/6 C
Bounce Power – 5/6 A
Her power, speed, and bunce power are impressive. However, her technique and intelligence can get her in rough situations. As we have observed in her past fights and her recent one, she mostly just charge towards the enemies head-on.
In My Hero Academia chapter 262, Mirko lost her left arm during a fight with five Nomus. Three of them are still standing and she might be able to survive through them. However, things will be different once Dr. Ujiko finishes waking up Tomura.
Is Mirko going to die?
In a recent author’s comment section of the Weekly Shonen Jump, Kohei Horikoshi made a startling comment. His comment reads:
I want to draw Mirko for another 30 weeks, but I also want to advance the plot. First world problems?
Obviously, Horikoshi likes his character Mirko. Many fans love Mirko. His comment, however, makes it sound like we will not be seeing Mirko for much longer. He did not clearly imply that Mirko is about to die. It could just mean that she might be terribly wounded during the battle that would incapacitate her.
If Mirko loses a limb or two it would be just like losing One for All. Her legs are what enable her to throw powerful blows, absorb enemy attacks, and leap high and fast. If that is the case, we should still be able to see her in the future. However, Horikoshi seems to be fine with killing characters early like what he did to Night Eye.
