Chinese OEMs have done the unthinkable by offering smartphones with flagship-grade processors at never-before prices.

Take the Oppo Reno6 5G that costs just under INR 30,000 in India yet comes with the fairly powerful Mediatek Dimensity 900 processor.

Despite this, artificial, unnecessary restrictions on games like PUBG aka BGMI ruin the overall gameplay experience on such flagship killer devices. These restrictions are comprised of both framerate and graphic quality settings.

To better understand the problem, let’s just take the Oppo Reno6 5G as an example. The phone scores above 430000 in Antutu, which is more than enough to run BGMI at at least 60 FPS at HD settings.

However, for some reason, the game limits the graphic settings on the device to just 30 FPS, even at the lowest ‘Smooth’ settings, which makes the game borderline playable.

And as for its Pro variant – the Oppo Reno6 Pro – the framerates are capped at a maximum of 60 FPS. This is despite the fact that the device comes with Mediatek’s current flagship Dimensity 1200 processor and has a 90Hz refresh rate.

Due to this, users of not only the Oppo Reno6 series, but other capable devices with 90Hz or higher refresh rate displays as well have been demanding 90 FPS support on BGMI/PUBG.

Thankfully, OPPO Care India says that they have noted the feedback regarding this and will be sharing it with their team for future consideration.

However, it is worth mentioning here that Oppo has been issuing similar acknowledgments for months now and there has been no progress made on the matter.

The reason for this could be that Oppo doesn’t really have any hand on the matter and that graphics and framerate configuration on BGMI are totally up to its developers.

Xiaomi had pointed this out a while back and it quite likely is valid for Oppo as well.

That said, there is a workaround available that will enable 90 FPS support and allow you to play PUBG/BGMI at any graphic setting you desire on your Oppo device.

Just download the ZArchiver app for manually modifying the PUBG config files and then download the 90 FPS config file via this link.

After completion, open the zip file and extract its content. Then, move Game_patch_1.4.0.14929 to Android/data/com.tencent.ig /files/UE4GAME/ShadowTrackerExtra/ShadowTrackerExtra/Saved/Paks using ZArchiver after granting it the necessary permissions.

Once that’s done, simply start up your game and you should see a brand new 90 FPS graphics option.
