Last year, Motorola revealed a list of smartphones that were eligible for the update to Android 11, however, did not share any details regarding the availability of the new software for either of the models.
This means that users were, and still are, left in the dark as to when the company would begin seeding the new Android version to their devices.
That said, Motorola finally started seeding the stable update for the Motorola G Pro in January and we expected to see the update make its way over to other models soon.
And well, it seems that Android 11 is now rolling out to the Motorola Moto G8 and the Moto G8 Power.
In November last year, we reported that the company started soak testing Android 11 for the two models which means that it has taken roughly four months for Motorola to get the stable update to the public.
Nevertheless, this new information was brought to our attention via a couple of tweets from users who shared screenshots of the software update information page.
This new Android 11 update carries the software version number RPE31.Q4U-47-35 for the Motorola Moto G8 and the Moto G8 Power and is available to users in Colombia, at least according to the information at hand.
Motorola has also thrown in the February 2021 patch with the update for good measure.
Unfortunately, we haven’t yet come across any official confirmation of the same since the company has not yet updated its software upgrade tracker with the information.
This could mean that the new Android version is only rolling out to a limited number of users at present but we have no means to confirm the same.
Now that the update has begun making its way over to handsets in Colombia, we should soon start seeing it go live in other regions as well.
So stay tuned to our dedicated tracker to know the status of Android 11 for all eligible Motorola smartphones.
