New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on April 21, 2021) follows:
Motorola rolled out the Android 11 update for the Moto G Pro that’s sold as the Moto G Stylus in the U.S. earlier this year.
While the update slowly made its way to Moto G Pro models in several countries, users with Moto G Stylus models in the U.S. didn’t get the update up until now.
Although, there’s a way users can get Android 11 installed on their Moto G Stylus units manually. More on that here.
That being said, the Lenovo-owned smartphone maker appears to have finally begun sending out the Android 11 update for the Motorola Moto G Stylus in the U.S.
A few users have confirmed receiving it by sharing the news on Reddit. We’ve added a screenshot of the update information page below.
The update is rolling out with the software version number RPR31.Q1.56-9 and it also brings the February 2021 security patch to the device.
Motorola is yet to confirm the rollout of Android 11 for the Moto G Stylus in the U.S. on its software upgrade page.
Moreover, most user reports indicate that the update is only live for the unlocked models sold on Amazon.
We weren’t able to get our hands on the changelog for the update as well. However, it should be safe to assume that the main Android 11 features would be present.
That said, now that the Android 11 update is rolling out for unlocked Moto G Stylus models in the U.S., we can expect to see Motorola along with carriers such as Verizon start seeding it soon as well.
