[Updated] Motorola Moto G Power Android 11 update begins rolling out

The Motorola Moto G Power comes with Android 10 pre-installed and has been in line to get the update to Android 11 as confirmed by the company in a blog post published in December.

In fact, we reported that the company started the Android 11 soak test for the Moto G Power back in February. But there was no indication as to when the wider rollout would commence.

The company has been rolling out the new Android version to eligible devices for a few months now and the most recent phone to get it was the Moto G Fast which got it in the U.S.

That said, it’s now time for Motorola Moto G Power users to rejoice since the company has started rolling out the Android 11 update for the device.

Before going any further, it’s worth pointing out that we’re talking about the Moto G Power that was released in 2020 and not the 2021 model.

With that out of the way, a few Motorola Moto G Power users with devices purchased from TracFone have confirmed receiving the Android 11 update on Reddit and the company’s community forums.

The update bears the build number RPM31.Q1-54-13 and brings along the February 2021 security patch which is disappointing considering that we’re already in May.

As usual, there’s no detailed changelog for the update, however, you can expect to see most of the new features introduced with Android 11 if not all of them.

Motorola has not yet updated its official software update tracker to reflect the rollout of Android 11 for the Moto G Power in the U.S. This indicates that the update went live recently.

Now that the update is rolling out to some users in the U.S., it’s likely that we’ll see the new software go live for the device in other regions as well.

IST 08:08 pm: According to a recent report from Twitter, the Motorola Moto G Power 2020 unlocked Canadian variant is now getting the update to Android 11.
