Motorola Moto G Fast Android 11 update begins rolling out

A few days ago we reported that Motorola started seeding Android 11 to the One Hyper in the U.S. Now it seems the company has released the new Android OS for yet another mid-ranger.

The device in the spotlight today is the Motorola Moto G Fast which’s getting a new software update in the U.S. that brings along Android 11.

The Motorola Moto G Fast was launched in June last year and comes with Android 10 pre-installed. Hence, this is the first major update that the device has got since its release.

A Motorola Moto G Fast user took to Reddit to confirm receiving the update their unlocked model in the U.S.

The update bears the software version RPJ31.Q1-53-12 and Motorola has thrown in the February 2021 security patch for good measure.

While the update is live in the U.S., the company is yet to update its official software update tracker to reflect the rollout.

This indicates that the OTA update has just started hitting devices. So in case you’ve not yet got the OTA package, don’t fret. The update should arrive in the next few hours or even days.

Motorola does not share a detailed changelog, meaning we don’t have a way to see all the changes the new update brings to the device(s).

Although, the usual Android 11 features we’ve come to expect should be present and accounted for in the Motorola Moto G Fast too.

That said, other remaining Motorola devices should also get the update sooner rather than later.
