[Updated] Motorola Moto Edge 30 Ultra camera improvements likely coming as part of Android 13 update, but there's no ETA

The Motorola Moto Edge 30 Ultra is one of the premium flagship Android smartphones released back in 2022. It comes with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC, 5G connectivity, and 125W TurboPower charging support.

The phone was also the world’s first smartphone to feature a 200-megapixel rear camera. Even though many had anticipated that the camera quality would be as good as advertised, they got disappointed as this wasn’t the case.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9), multiple users have been complaining about the poor camera quality of the Motorola Moto Edge 30 Ultra.

It is alleged that despite the 200-megapixel rear camera, the phone struggles to focus while clicking photos and recording videos as well. Due to this, one is unable to shoot high-quality photos or videos all the time.

One Moto Edge 30 Ultra owner says that they are very much disappointed with their phone’s camera as it cannot even capture a normal photo on the first click.

They also mentioned that the night mode and video recording are not up to the mark as the camera fails to focus on objects properly.

Allegedly, they have to click a photograph multiple times in order to get their hands on a clear and high-quality snap.

When trying to make a Whatsapp video call or normal Video call from phone. The Video quality is very very poor with Grainy patterns.(both rear and front camera). I have tried to check & change all settings, permissions in whatsapp & in local settings of the phone but no help.

Those affected have already tried getting their phone serviced and repaired by the company’s local service center, multiple times, but still to no avail.

Due to this, users are even questioning the point of purchasing such an expensive flagship smartphone if they were to get substandard camera quality.

Some are now thinking of getting a full refund for their device.

Fortunately, Motorola’s support team has acknowledged the issue and said that the additional camera improvements will be made available through a future update, likely the upcoming Android 13 update.

However, no official ETA for the update release has been shared.

We do hope that Motorola brings camera improvements to the Motorola Moto Edge 30 Ultra soon.

In the meantime, we’ll keep tabs on this topic and update the article accordingly.

04:19 pm (IST): According to a Motorola administrator, a number of Edge 30 Ultra users have started to receive the February security update with the camera improvements.

They also said that the full release was delayed owing to the blackened issues. But most regions should have a complete rollout soon.
