The Mi File Manager is the default app across all Xiaomi devices for accessing files. It is a pretty feature-rich one too supporting stuff like zipping and even offline file sharing.

But unlike some of the other system apps, this handy little tool is available for download on the Google Play Store for all to enjoy where it’s joined by the likes of some other proprietary apps from Xiaomi like the Mi Calculator.

Nonetheless, the Mi File Manager app is turning out to be the cause of bother for some users lately. This is pretty clear from several complaints:

I am using Redmi Note 10 since March but facing slow loading on MIUI file manager. Any suggestions?

LoL. File Manager is the worst application by Xiaomi. Newly download items wouldn’t be displayed until refresh. Refresh took more than 2 minutes.

As clear from above, the app takes a pretty long time to display files. And the type/format doesn’t seem to matter as none of the files seem to load, at least for several seconds or minutes.

Also while complaints seem to originate from mostly the Redmi Note 10 series, there are a few from some other devices like the Mi Note 10 Pro as well.

Still, it doesn’t seem to be affecting all devices. I downloaded the app on my Xiaomi just to be sure and it seems to be working perfectly fine.

Either way, if you’re one of the users facing the slow loading speed issue on the MIUI File Manager app, then you will be pleased to know that the bug has already been escalated to Xiaomi R&D.

Hence, if all goes well, a fix should roll out for the same in the form of an app update. If not, then it will hopefully be made available with the next system update for your device.

For now, be sure to check out our coverage on the MIUI 12.5 global stable update release for the Redmi Note 10S. After all, if the 10S has bagged it, then the rest of the series should follow soon.
