Xiaomi is known to save the best features it has for its in-house MIUI skin, which is why fans are always looking forward to the release of the next MIUI version more than the release of a new Android OS version.

The MIUI 12 hype train started gathering pace several months ago and as of this writing, we are entering the final stages of the rollout. Matter of fact, Xiaomi should be done rolling out the MIUI 12 update by the end of September.

Plenty of MIUI 12 update-related activities are expected to happen between now and then. Besides rolling out the new firmware to more devices in the Redmi series, Xiaomi also has other plans in store.

Apparently, the company is also looking into user suggestions and feature requests with the intention of implementing some of this feedback from time to time. One of the suggestions in question is to add the option to restrict Wi-Fi usage on system apps.

Although no timeline, Xiaomi says it will seriously consider this suggestion in a future MIUI 12 update. The company may also consider adding adaptive refresh rate when or auto-switch refresh rate when playing games. Click/tap on the images below to view the full responses from Xiaomi.

As I pen this, Android 11 beta update is already available for the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro, with the Poco F2 Pro and Poco X2 lurking. There are also reports that Redmi K30 5G and Mi 10 Lite are being migrated to Android 11, albeit internally.

But it doesn’t look like any of these features will wait until Xiaomi’s Android 11 update begins rolling out, rather, they should roll out as part of the regular incremental MIUI 12 updates. But then again, the fate of these features is still under consideration.

Keep following our MIUI 12 update tracker to know if and when these features arrive for your specific Xiaomi handset.
