Xiaomi and quick updates are words that are not often used in the same sentence. The company has been slacking on providing quick updates for many years. Although, this can somewhat be blamed on its vast portfolio of devices.

The company releases a new phone almost every couple of months. Therefore, it’s easy to see why Xiaomi is unable to provide fast updates for so many smartphones. At present, Xiaomi is busy working on releasing MIUI 12 and Android 10 for some of its devices.

Just a day ago we reported that the Poco F1 MIUI 12 update is under internal testing. Further, the company also recently released MIUI 12 for the Redmi Note 8 Pro. So it’s easy to see that Xiaomi has a lot of work lined up.

Cut to now, the company just released the MIUI 12 China Beta ROM 20.7.16. But along with that, Xiaomi has also provided some information regarding devices on which the MIUI 12 beta update has been delayed.

The list of devices includes the Redmi Note 7, Note 8, Mi Mix 3 and Mi CC9e. The reasons for delaying the update for the aforementioned devices are split into two. On the one hand, the Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12 beta update has been delayed due to an OTG connection issue.

On the other hand, the update for the Redmi Note 8, Mi Mix 3 and Mi CC9e has been delayed due to a stability issue. But that’s not all. The MIUI 12 beta has also been temporarily suspended for the Mi Mix 2S. This was done because the package was unable to be successfully compiled.

So it appears users of the aforementioned devices might have to wait a tad longer to get the latest MIUI 12 beta update. Whether this affects the timing for the release of the stable build is yet to be seen.

In the meantime, you can check out our MIUI 12 update tracker to know when it arrives on your device. Of course, we will post an update once the beta update goes live for the affected devices.
