There are a lot of features that make the MIUI 12 update desirable. Among them, Super Wallpapers, Super Document, Control Center, Frame Rate Monitor Tool, universal casting tool, and Virtual Identity.
However, there are several issues with the latest custom skin while some features are limited to the Chinese MIUI 12 ROM.
MIUI 12 offers a highly customizable interface including the dynamic Always-on-Display which can be modified with a lot of custom animation styles.
While it is indeed an amazing theming enhancement, the dynamic AoD feature is only available on the MIUI 12 China ROM.
Multiple reports of users requesting this feature to be added to the global MIUI 12 ROM are doing rounds on the Mi Community.
It is only natural of Mi fans to demand such features especially when another version of the custom skin includes them.
Xiaomi has addressed several requests related to the MIUI 12 update AoD themes but it seems that the OEM might not give in to these requests.
As per a Xiaomi feedback team member, some features are only meant for the MIUI 12 China ROM and might not be made available on the global ROM.
This is a tad disappointing for global Mi fans as the highly customizable Always-on-Display of MIUI 12 is among the most desired features.
Apart from this, there are several issues surrounding the AoD where multiple users are reporting about the low brightness and only 10-second timeout problems.
As per several reports, the AoD stays active only for 10 seconds on devices like the Mi 10 Lite 5G and there is no option to keep it on always.
Since a Mi Community moderator has stated that users will have to make do with the available options only, Mi fans have come with a workaround for this.
So, those who want to keep the AoD feature on all the time will have to disable MIUI optimization found in the Developer Options of the device.
Apart from this, reports of abrupt brightness change on the AoD are also doing rounds but the OEM is yet to address this issue.
Since MIUI 12 is a major update, the presence of such issues is understandable, however, features related to aesthetics should be made available globally by the OEM.
That said, we hope Xiaomi takes a deeper look into these issues and requests, and provides users with a proper resolution soon.
Meanwhile, you can check out our MIUI 12 update tracker if your Xiaomi device is yet to bag the latest custom skin.
