Xiaomi’s latest custom skin, MIUI 12, is still being developed as the beta program is still live in China.
The OEM announced MIUI 12 back in April and its deployment started soon after. As of now, a lot of devices have bagged the update.
New features and improvements keep on surfacing which further suggests that Xiaomi intends to take the user experience to another level.
While Xiaomi’s beta program continues, certain changes have been made to its update release timeline which might also affect future MIUI builds.
The changes in the MIUI 12 beta program timeline were announced on the Xiaomi & MIUI News Telegram channel and the changes are applicable to both nightlies as well as public beta builds.
From November 9, 2020, the internal test release time of the development version has been adjusted to be released before 18:00.
The public beta release time of the development version was adjusted to be released before 13:00, and the development version was released with a relatively more fully tested version.
It has been clearly mentioned that the strategic adjustments to the release timeline will not affect the stable MIUI versions.
Also, these changes are limited to the MIUI beta builds which are only meant for internal and public testing in China.
However, this might indeed affect future MIUI 13 beta builds as those will also be first made available in the home country itself.
Moreover, it is unclear how severely these changes might affect the development of MIUI but it has been mentioned that this is being done to further improve the user experience.
Nevertheless, Xiaomi has been constantly working to refine its software which further suggests that the OEM is focused on delivering the best possible experience to its consumers.
That said, we will keep tracking the development of MIUI 12 and will provide more details once new information becomes available.
