Microsoft Windows 10 is the most popular version of Windows across the globe. It has its own app store and preinstalled apps like Microsoft Photos.

While Microsoft Photos is a pretty handy tool when it comes to viewing and editing pictures on a basic level, there are some issues with it.

As per several reports, users of the Microsoft Photos app are not quite liking the way it previews pictures and options.

It seems users are not quite taking a liking to the margin/border that appears for the image in the Microsoft Photos app.

While this might be a UI problem and more of a feedback rather than an issue, there are no acknowledgements or workarounds for it.

Exactly! Now there’s even bigger padding between the photo and the edges of the window since the latest update. What is going on there?!

However, another issue which appears to be with the Windows system or the Photos app itself appears to be spoiling the experience for some.

There seems to be a yellow tint in the pictures when they are viewed via the Microsoft Photos app. Also, this yellow tint issue is not local to Microsoft Photos but also affects legacy image viewer in Windows.

This is inconveniencing Windows users as the Photos app and legacy image viewer are among the most commonly used photo viewers.

I’m having some issues with the default windows 10 photo / image viewer. When I open a image, the application loads said image but adds a certain yellow-ish tint to it aswell as some kind of resolution downgrade. It’s weird because the instant I open the image, I can view it correctly but, again, an instant later the problem described appears and remains that way.

However, there is a workaround where re-calibrating the screen in Windows 10 might fix the yellow tint problem.

This can be done by heading over to the Advanced tab under the Color Management settings and selecting the Calibrate display option.

While it is unclear whether this workaround fixes the yellow tint issue on a generic level, it sure appears to have done the trick for the user who posted it.

Hopefully, Microsoft takes a deeper look into these problems and releases an improvement update for the Photos app in the future.

That said, we will report back with more details if or when new development occurs on the matter.
