Looks like some Microsoft 365 services are currently down. We are seeing a lot of complaints about an outage from Office and Outlook 365 customers. Take a look:
We're having this issue in the UK and now been informed that our clients are getting automated messages saying our email addresses are incorrect! Do you have any updates or time frame for this to be fixed? Could also do with not having an incorrect automated message being sent

For its part, Microsoft has officially acknowledged the problem, saying they are working to fix it.
We’re investigating an issue where users can’t access their mailboxes through multiple protocols. More details are published in the admin center under EX172491, available to your Microsoft 365 admin

While Microsoft has confirmed the outage, there’s no official word on how widespread the problem is. Online chatter, however, suggests it’s a worldwide outage.

Microsoft’s notification to admins said next update would be provided at 11:00 AM UTC. We’re well past that deadline, and apparently there has been no update from the company’s end on the progress.
