Original story (published on May 12, 2021) follows:

Most of Xiaomi’s fame can be owed to their portfolio of incredible value-for-money smartphone offerings but that’s not all the OEM has to offer.

The company is also known for other stuff like smart TVs, smart home products, and even electric scooters lately.

Now the electric scooter bit may be fairly new but Xiaomi’s smart home products have been selling like hotcakes for years. To facilitate the easy usage of its smart home products, the company has the good old Mi Home app.

Mi Home lets you connect and easily control all of Xiaomi’s smart home devices including routers, air purifiers, smart lighting, home security cameras, and more from your smartphone itself.

The app recently even received a major update that brought along a UI redesign with larger text and toggles, making everything more visually pleasing and accessible. Along with this, a few new features were also added.

The update was made available late last year through the Google Play Store but it seems like Xiaomi isn’t done with the app just yet.

As it stands, the company has kickstarted a new beta testing program for the Mi Home app. Through this, future beta versions of the app will be released along with all the bleeding edge upcoming features they’ll offer.

Xiaomi could’ve of course opted for the Google Play Store’s beta testing channel but it appears that they desire a more direct approach with more personal feedback.

Anyway, to apply for the Mi Home app beta update testing program, head here to open up the application form. The deadline for the application is May 15 so hurry!

But before you do that, you might want to ensure that the following conditions are met. The noteworthy ones include having a Telegram account, any Android phone, English proficiency, and being aged over 18:
