This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (published on June 12) follows:

Xiaomi hinted at bringing the stable Redmi Note 8 Android 10 update alongside the update to MIUI 12. At this point, neither Android 10 nor MIUI 12 stable has been released to the device.

Folks in China can already try MIUI 12 beta on the Redmi Note 8 and even the Mi CC9e. However, the devices have been left out of the latest beta 20.6.11.

Released on June 11, the MIUI 12 beta 20.6.11 update is rolling out to various other handsets participating in the beta program in China, but the Redmi Note 8 and Mi CC9e have been left out this time around.

As per the release notes, the reason these two have been dropped is that they are currently being adapted to Android 10 operating system. Sure, there are still no reports of the actual rollout, but the fact that Xiaomi says it’s happening is enough to confirm that.

In a small note, the MIUI team says the following:

As Redmi Note 8, Mi CC9e is adapting to Android 10 so Update is stopped for a while.

It is understandable that Xiaomi is halting the beta exercise for Redmi Note 8 and Mi CC9e in order to give room for users to switch to the new Android 10 OS. It is only after this that the updated firmware can now enter a new beta era.

We will keep an eye on the story and let you know when the OS begins rolling out. Stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
